View the project: https://loom.ly/vBkYXwo The UPMC Presbyterian Lifestyle Village (LSV) submitted by HGA is an integral part of the new UPMC high-rise bed tower, opening in 2026. The vision for LSV is fourfold: to advance transitional support for families and patients, to serve as a thought leader in family-centered care, to fuel community well-being, and to support staff in work and life. Jurors stated that this is an exciting project that is poised to do a shared POE, especially with the focus on patient-centered design and the support of staff with their own customized spaces to reduce burnout. ALPSlimb is dedicated to bringing clinicians together and promoting collaboration and team-based care. This approach not only helps prevent limb loss but also leads to better outcomes and quality of life for patients. ALPS' founding Scientific Chair, Dr. Michael Conte, had this to say about the importance of teamwork: “We founded ALPS out of a desire to better promote education, awareness, and science around what it takes to save limbs[...] and a dire need to extend and collaborate and learn from each other." If you'd like to connect with Dr. Conte and other clinicians who are equally as passionate about limb preservation, consider signing up for an ALPS membership! Click here to register: https://lnkd.in/eXnRMX6 We value our members and help them meet their professional goals in several ways, including: - The opportunity to apply for our ALPS Traveling Fellowship, which provides recipients up to $7,500 and the chance to visit two limb preservation centers of excellence; - Access to ALPS’ international job board; - Keeping up to date with what is happening in limb preservation; - Eligibility to participate in our newly created ALPS education committee, responsible for patient and professional education, such as publications, webinars, e-learning and other educational material; and - Discounts on registration fees for this year's DFCon. I talk about strategy, project management, and career development for professionals in the healthcare industry | Two decades in management consulting | National HIMSS/ HFMA Speaker
Excited to share an update on the monumental PAU project. 🚀 In tackling projects of this scale, I’ve learned the power of asking the right questions. It’s not just about finding answers but about driving meaningful analysis that leads to actionable strategies. Many might begin by asking, “How do we lower PAUs in Maryland?” While well-intentioned, this question doesn’t pave the way for actionable solutions. It leaves policymakers at a standstill, with no clear direction for execution. Instead, consider a more strategic question: “Would removing payment incentives for PAUs alter health system behaviors towards patient care?” This inquiry not only highlights the goal of PAU policies—to influence behavior—but also prompts us to think deeper about the nature of these behaviors. To refine further: “How could eliminating payment incentives for PAUs reshape health system strategies for building and maintaining infrastructure that enhances patient outcomes?” This version drills down to the core, linking policy adjustments directly to patient well-being and system improvement. By shifting our focus to these nuanced questions, we not only identify problems but also open the door to innovative solutions and better health care practices. Let’s continue to challenge the status quo and drive change through thoughtful inquiry. 💡 ✍️ Write in the comments your thoughts and what I might be missing

Great quote! Did you know that this begins in utero? Studies show that how the parent conceptualizes a child during pregnancy is predictive of the attachment style that child will develop with the parent after they are born. This was identified through the use of the Working Model of the Child Interview. Early intervention begins in the perinatal period and changes trajectories!
