Does BNPL promote irresponsible impulse purchases or has it also become an integral way for shoppers to manage their cashflow for everyday spending? The Tabby team did some research to find out and here’s what we discovered. 1. 77% of shoppers plan to use BNPL options for essential spend. 2. First-time BNPL purchases are twice as likely to be essential rather than discretionary. 3. Ramadan is the busiest sales season for retailers in the region, and for many, 2024 was a record-breaking month of sales. 📈 Over the month, there was an overall 33% increase in sales for retailers. 🛍️ Retail categories such as fashion, homeware and beauty saw increases of up to 70% in their sales. 💳 Average order value increased by over 10%. Last week retailers across the region tuned into our live sales dashboard. Together we saw a record high SAR 160 million in sales through Tabby in a single day. 🚀 During peak time, retailers processed SAR 13,225,421 in an hour, which is over SAR 220,000 every minute. 🛍️ Retailers processed 244,156 orders over 24 hours.
