It’s #SmartIrrigationMonth! NAWC members constantly look for ways for both regulated, private water companies and their customers to reduce water use and ensure we have this critical resource – water – for future generations. Here are some simple tricks to make sure you’re irrigating smartly! 1. Water Early or Late: Water plants early in the morning or late in the evening to reduce evaporation due to sun and wind. 2. Avoid Overwatering: Adjust watering schedules based on the weather conditions and plant needs, avoiding watering during or right after rain. 3. Check for Leaks: To prevent water waste, regularly inspect your hoses and sprinklers for leaks, clogs and broken components. 4. Capture and Reuse Rainwater: Install rain barrels or other rainwater harvesting systems to collect and reuse rainwater for irrigation. For more about water conservation: https://lnkd.in/d2avSQ8n
