August is #WaterQualityMonth and 2024 is the 50th Anniversary of the #SafeDrinkingWaterAct (SDWA)! Passed in 1974, the SDWA set strong water quality standards for the nation’s drinking water and established a regulatory framework to safeguard public health. This month, we recognize the act’s significant contributions to improving and protecting water quality and celebrate our team members who work hard to deliver safe, reliable water service every day! #SafeDrinkingWater #WaterisLife #SDWA50thAnniversary

Happy to share we started Suburban’s first major Capital Improvement Project serving the Sativa Water System in the City of Compton and Willowbrook neighborhood since acquiring the system in 2022. We will replace 8,000 linear feet of pipe and more than 200 services. We appreciate J. De Sigio Construction, certified #MBE, for collaborating on this important project. This infrastructure investment illustrates our continuous commitment to providing our customers with a safe and reliable water supply. #SuburbanWaterSystems #Sativa #Compton #Willowbrook

Thank you for helping us recognize our 2024 interns on #NationalInternDay! We are very grateful for their dedication and support during their time at Nexus Water Group. To wrap up our series, meet Owen Simmons, Utility Operations Intern ⭐ “I'm from the Chicago Suburbs, currently studying Industrial and Systems Engineering at Northern Illinois University. My time at this internship has allowed me to interact with and learn from industry professionals, work with customers, and learn about GIS mapping tools and database management at scale. I hope to use the experience I have gained here as a stepping-stone as I move forward in my career. My parents as engineers inspired me to take this path in life.”

Help us recognize our incredible team of interns on #NationalInternDay! Introducing Juan Rosas, Engineering Intern 🛠️🙌 “I’m from Los Angeles, California. I currently attend California State University, Los Angeles, otherwise known as CSULA, and I’m majoring in Civil Engineering. I graduate this upcoming Fall Semester in December but won’t be able to walk the stage until the following Spring Semester in May. I’m very interested in the water aspect of Civil Engineering, so having the opportunity to work at Nexus is very important for my professional growth. The people who inspire me professionally and academically are my mentors here at Suburban Water Systems. I’m proud to say that I’ve learned so much in my little time here, and it’s all thanks to the amazing Engineering Team who have been very patient and understanding with me. They encourage me to ask questions and are quick to lend a helping hand.”

In honor of #NationalInternDay, we're spotlighting each of our interns in a post! Meet Taylor Oltrogge, Utility Operations Intern 👏✨ "I'm from Wisconsin. This internship has made it possible for me to test out the industry and see how I like it before deciding if it is a career path that is a good fit for me and the lifestyle I want to live. My family inspires and motivates me. I grew up watching my grandparents, uncles, and father work hard for everything they have, and I aspire to work as hard and accomplish as much as the rest of my family."
