I often get messages from teachers asking how they can transition to sales. The truth is that your first role outside of teaching is the hardest one to get. The good news is that you’re already selling every day. You sell ideas to your students, plans to parents, and initiatives to your principal. You have the skills to make the switch, you just have to tell your story in a way the translates to sales. Here are some tips to help you transition: 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬: You’re already a pro at communication, organization, and problem-solving. Highlight these skills in your resume and interviews. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤: Connect with sales professionals on LinkedIn, attend events, and join industry groups. Networking can open doors and provide valuable insights. 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐬: Get familiar with sales terminology and techniques. Online courses and certifications can help you build credibility. Like any new tech, digital passes face a ton of misconceptions, so today I'm busting one of the biggest myths: 🚫 Myth: Digital hall passes track students using GPS. ✅ Fact: SmartPass is GPS-free! Here's the truth: Our digital hall pass system is student-driven. It's similar to the traditional sign-out sheet, except so much smarter. Students click a couple of buttons on their laptop or at a kiosk to indicate where they're going, similar to signing their name. Teachers can also input this information and it's easier than stopping to write a manual pass. This results in the best kind of record-keeping, enabling school admins to know which students were in specific locations, like the first-floor bathroom, at any given time. Their pass is "activated" and there is no physical pass or device carried with the student. MythBusted! SmartPass does not use GPS location tracking. We ensure that we're respecting and protecting student privacy while helping keep them safe and accountable.

Hey everyone, I'm Ivy Tsang, Product Designer at SmartPass here to share one of our latest (and one of my favorite) feature updates – 𝐎𝐧𝐞-𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐥 🎉 As the design + product lead, I focused on understanding the critical information teachers need to take action on student pass requests. Teachers often juggle numerous tasks at once, and we saw how overwhelming it can be to handle multiple pass requests from students. I collaborated with my team to translate this into the most efficient, easy to use, and intuitive experience for teachers. With our latest update, we’ve made it easier than ever for teachers to manage pass requests smoothly. ���𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠! Teachers can now respond to pass requests with a single tap. For overwhelming days, this feature lets teachers see student messages on a single hover to avoid the need to click into each pass to approve or deny. This update focuses all on making SmartPass easy to use and saving time for our hardworking teachers.
