What is the best way to approach someone to be your mentor?
Consider approaching this as a micro-mentorship. Micro mentorships are often more specific and focused which can help you achieve goals more quickly and gives you more focused opportunities to partner together and build your relationship. It is saying "I'd love to partner with you for a few months to increase my public speaking skills, specifically my presentation skills" vs "Would you be open to mentoring me on public speaking."

How can you build a professional network if you are shy or introverted?
Authenticity will always be one of the best strategies, especially in networking. Consider how you can introduce yourself with authenticity, even saying something like, "I'm actually a pretty introverted person so after our convo I'll likely need a nap" That brings in some humor, helps the person learn who you are quickly and gives you permission if you need it to share when your energy is depleted and you need to wrap up.

What are the best strategies for improving employee performance with limited resources?
Go talk to your team! I find we often forget to check in and have "user interview" style conversations with our employees. What is working for them? What are they lacking? What isn't clear to them? What are they looking for from a performance management program or process? Hearing directly from our "users" is usually the best path to closing the gap on adoption and usage of what we're building- and it is for them, right?

How do you give respectful and timely recruiting feedback?
Even though often times the reason you don't select someone in a hiring process isn't something they can do differently, the feedback showcases open and honest communication and gives them information to help build understanding. I've rarely had a candidate not thank me for the feedback and I've often had candidates take me up on discussing feedback more deeply and use it as an opportunity for them to grow and strengthen their approach for their next interview.
