  • Is it possible to maintain an unbroken digital thread from computer-aided design (CAD) to metaverse to mixed reality (XR)? With our partner NVIDIA, at a recent conference, we demonstrated that it was possible to visualize massive datasets in real time. With our “one click to VR” approach, you can inspect and review designs in full scale using a selection of familiar tools all connected directly through our NX application to the digital thread. Stay tuned! In the next phase of our collaboration with NVIDIA, we will be releasing a new product later this year—powered by NVIDIA’s metaverse, NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud APIs —for Teamcenter X, our industry-leading cloud-based product lifecycle management (PLM) software, part of the Siemens Xcelerator platform. #DigitalThread #CAD #XR

  • Escalating temperatures have led to escalating concerns about emissions from industrial equipment. Being a conscientious organization, Hyster Yale has decided to rise to the occasion by electrifying their handling equipment. Such foundational and colossal redesign and innovation entail a lot of heavy lifting—that can now be offloaded to simulation tools like Simcenter Amesim. The team used simulation to capture the machine behavior into a virtual model to explore all the possibilities. They finally arrived at one design to fit all the market expectations and regulations without compromising development time or cost. As the vehicle undergoes final testing, we are proud to power their ascent to the highest sustainability standards. #Sustainability #IndustrialMachinery #Simulation

  • Digitalization is making waves across countless industries, and surfing is no exception. Technologies like computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation, additive manufacturing, big data, biomimicry, and computer aided structural analysis, have been revolutionizing the design and testing of surfboards. The sport of surfing is quickly outgrowing its niche. By adding a strong scientific and engineering-based approach, researchers are making surfing more accessible and enjoyable. As researchers navigate through the uncharted waters of innovation, they’re committed to striking the crucial balance between speed, agility, control, and therefore safety. Using the digital twin and CFD, these scientists and engineers are aiming to develop the ideal board for surfers of all styles, skill sets, and preferences, faced with waves of all sizes, shapes, and magnitudes. #Simulation #CFD #CFDSimulation

  • Did you know the digital twin has a long and illustrious past? Its journey began in the 1960s with NASA space missions. Fast-forward to 2012 and the digital twin – along with Siemens Xcelerator – played a key role in the success of the Mars rover “Curiosity.” Siemens helped develop, simulate, test and build the rover to gather key scientific data on the red planet. Today, the widespread adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) is advancing the digital twin to heights never imagined. As the digital era continues, digital twins and IoT technology are revolutionizing product processes and supply chains offering unprecedented transparency and efficiency. From smart homes, smart cities, smart factories and all things connected. #IoT #DigitalTwin #NASA
