This week is National Library week, and today is #RightToReadDay This is a day where readers and library advocates are asked to share their support of the right to read. Unite Against Book Bans suggests sharing the following with elected officials: *Why libraries are important to you and your community. *How you have been impacted by censorship. *Why readers of all kinds deserve to see themselves reflected in library materials and services. From elementary books to young adult titles, and across various genres and formats, these 12 recent releases elevate voices and showcase the multifaceted experiences within the trans and nonbinary community.
We had the pleasure of hosting the Westchester Library System's Teen Services Meeting at the SPL! It was great to meet all of the dedicated teen services librarians and staff who were able to attend. It is so helpful to get together to share experiences, discuss issues, and brainstorm solutions. #Scarsdale #Libraries #TeenServices #Librarians #WestchesterLibraries #WestchesterCountyNY
Thank you for sharing Marie-Valentine Lacoudre! The presentation with anthony lacoudre was very well-received by the community and we appreciate the insight into French place names in America.
Last week, I had the privilege of attending a captivating discussion on French Place Names in America, led by anthony lacoudre. As a French-American student in the United States, I found this dialogue particularly enriching and engaging. Exploring the intersection of my dual heritage provided a unique lens through which to appreciate American history and the rich history of location names across the country. Anthony Lacoudre, a distinguished tax attorney and author (and proudly, my father), provided insightful information into this fascinating historical journey. A heartfelt thank you to Scarsdale Public Library for hosting such an enlightening event.
Join us tomorrow for this enlightening discussion about a popular sport!
