Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth (SAFY) is Preserving Families & Securing Futures.
About us
At Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth (SAFY®), we work with youth and families to reach their full potential, building the foundation of well-being we all need to contribute to our communities. Driven by our mission of Preserving Families and Securing Futures, SAFY has designed a service blueprint based on research addressing the roots of trauma while effecting lasting change. Our model of care includes family preservation, reunification, behavioral health, and, when needed, foster care. This solid structure offers the tools to develop and maintain stable mental, physical, and emotional foundations to weather the storms where they are – home, school, work, or community.

SAFY is a proud partner of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption's Wendy's Wonderful Kids program, working to ensure permanency for all youth. Read below to find out more about their impact!
The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption works every day to raise awareness around the urgent need for foster care adoption. Part of our efforts is scaling our signature adoption program, Wendy's Wonderful Kids. Through this program, the Foundation supports the hiring of adoption professionals, known as recruiters, who use an evidence-based, child-focused model to find the right family for every child in their care. The model is up to 3x more effective in finding a permanent family for the youth it serves, including sibling groups, children with special needs and teenagers. To date, more than 14,000 children have permanent homes with the support of the Foundation. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dn2C_QpN

Please join us in reading our latest blog post, an important piece by Senior Executive Director of SAFY of Alabama Demetria Parnell-Scott, LICSW-S, "Bridging the Gap: Celebrating both Juneteenth & July 4th." As June closes, it is important to recognize the significance of both holidays and how they shape our understanding of freedom and independence. Let's continue to take the lessons learned to help strengthen our commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for all. https://lnkd.in/gnRTj2pC

Congrats to SAFY of Ohio's Joshua Williams, our Well-Being Warrior Award winner for this quarter! Joshua's unwavering dedication to supporting the positive well-being of youth has truly set him apart. His colleagues praise him for stepping up when his case managers need extra support and handling difficult situations with professionalism and a genuine concern for the youth's best interests. Joshua's quiet humility and impressive track record as a treatment director speak volumes about his commitment. He faces challenges head-on and embodies the belief that "nothing is too much for a child," according to his colleagues. Thank you, Joshua, for your incredible work and for positively impacting the youth we serve!
