🎙️ Exciting News! 🎙️ One of my most recent projects required me to put on a producer hat to develop a podcast that created an intimate portrait of a grand-led family and illustrated the systemic challenges, struggles, realities, and triumphs of providing care for its youngest members and their journey through the child welfare system. After countless hours of recording, reviewing content, and coordinating the various aspects of this podcast, I am thrilled to announce the launch of "Circle of Love" featuring Victoria Gray, Founder and Executive Director of GreyNickel Inc., and hosted by my former supervisor Kate Sweeney at UConn's Innovations Institute. The Gray family touched my heart in ways I never expected. When I shared the news about our family's plan to relocate to Phoenix slowly, the Gray family welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like one of their own. We met in person during one of my many trips to Phoenix. Also, when my husband was unable to return to Baltimore for Christmas in 2021, Mrs. Gray invited him to join their family for Christmas dinner. Their warmth and love have truly made Phoenix feel like home and we are forever grateful. ❤️🏡 "The engaging story of Victoria Gray and her family follows their journey as Victoria and her husband Gentry serve as a foster care and adoption placement for seven grandchildren and go on to provide respite and emergency care to over 40 other children. Ms. Gray's work evolved to the role of advocate as she elevated the voices of grandparent families for equitable resources. Victoria Gray is the Founder and Executive Director of GreyNickel Inc. non-profit with a mission to support kinship families through programs and resources in collaboration with state, federal, and community leaders. She is also an active member of the Arizona Grandparent Ambassadors, a statewide support and legislative advocacy network creating positive change for and with grandparents raising grandchildren and non-parent caregivers in the state." Join us as we dive into their inspiring journey, explore the power of community, and share stories that will uplift and inspire you. This is a podcast you won't want to miss! I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it! Thanks to Kate for inviting me to partner with you on this project! Thanks to Meredith Gunn for valuing my creative input despite being a production novice. A big shout out to Dennard Brown Jr. for being patient and translating my non-technical ideas into an awesome storyline. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gyBFzqrr #PodcastLaunch #CircleOfLove #VictoriaGray #KateSweeney #GrayFamily #GreyNickelInc #Inspiration #Phoenix #Family #PodcastProducer 🎙️
