D-Day, observed annually on June 6, brings overwhelming memories of the brave men and women who fought a strategically planned and well-executed battle that ultimately led to the end of the Second World War. More than 75 years after the end of World War II, these memories remain fresh to the over 300,000 living U.S. veterans of the war. Last Saturday, Saalex's Julie Austin from the Keyport WA team had the honor and privilege of escorting the remains of soldiers who have not been claimed by family to Mt Tahoma Cemetery for internment. The event, known as the Unforgotten Run, was organized by the local Combat Veterans motorcycle club chapter in Kent, WA. Many motorcycle clubs from the area joined in this 50-mile procession to honor fallen veterans. This act of remembrance and respect for those who have served our country is a powerful reminder of the sacrifice and dedication of our military members. It is important to never forget the bravery and commitment of our fallen heroes, and events like the Unforgotten Run serve as a poignant tribute to their memory. We salute all those involved in organizing and participating in this meaningful journey, and we express our deep gratitude to all the men and women who have served in the military.
