Advancing teacher learning to support equitable outcomes for all students
About us
We know that when teachers engage in equitable classroom practices, students benefit. But we don't know enough about how to support all teachers to learn these practices. RPPL's Mission RPPL is a collective of PL practitioners, researchers, educators, and funders committed to advancing educational equity for every student, including students who are Black, Latine, Indigenous, AAPI, Multilingual Learners, students with disabilities, and students experiencing poverty. Together, we study teacher and educator learning to identify, share, and enact PL that improves teachers’ instructional practices and students’ classroom experiences, well-being, and academic growth. RPPL's Vision We envision a world where all students and educators are valued, supported, engaged, and thriving in equitable, rigorous, and joyful learning environments that prepare them to be successful lifelong learners.

Overdeck Family Foundation is proud to announce a grant of $900,000 to RPPL (Research Partnership for Professional Learning) to manage three studies focused on identifying the features and traits of genAI tools that show potential to improve teacher quality and student learning, and disseminate those results to the education community at large. Our hope is that investing in an expanded body of evidence will help guide future product development decisions, as well as district procurement choices, improving the experience of millions of teachers and students for decades to come. cc: Center for Public Research and Leadership, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Stanford University Graduate School of Education, Teaching Lab, Teaching Matters, University of Maryland

#Throwback to an inspiring Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation AIMS Collaboratory convening! 🌟 RPPL presenters Camea Davis, Stacey Alicea, and Brendon Krall, MPP joined forces with BUILD’s Youth Advisory Panel last month to underscore the power of connecting student math practices, R&D initiatives, and teacher PL. Together, they discussed collaborative engagement of PL providers in tool design and implementation, shared insights on enhancing PL, reflected on youth perspectives about relevant and timely approaches, and dove into the impact of generative AI in classrooms. 💡✨
