Here in Baltimore, Roca’s Transitional Employment Program (TEP) is not about learning a trade; it is about practicing work behavior with CBT-trained crew supervisors. Without internalizing emotional regulation, our participants aren’t equipped for a job. Yet. First comes practicing behavior in a work setting, then building consistency and only then a real, steady job.

Even Justice Alito acknowledges that bump stock legislation does not violate the Second Amendment. Congress must act immediately to pass commonsense legislation already supported by 80% of Americans. #stopgunviolence #RocaInc

We are thrilled to share this report -- "Developmentally appropriate approaches for young adults in the criminal justice system" by Roisin Briody. The highlights and themes are 100% aligned with Roca's experience: 1. Young adults require specialist approaches 2. Allowing adequate time to build trust 3. Fair and proportionate criminal records and second chances Read the report here: https://hubs.la/Q02DgzXP0

Justin, a shooting survivor when he was just 21 years old, is a proud father and a dedicated family man. For so many young men at the center of urban violence, breaking the cycle of violence through active parenting with their own children remains one of the biggest motivators for change. Happy Father's Day to all of Roca's dads and to fathers everywhere.

Jarolyn is right — Collaboration is critical to stemming the tide of violence in Lynn and helping young people heal their trauma and choose a better path. Thank you to the Massachusetts Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence for bringing so many community partners together for an uplifting event.
Thank you to the Massachusetts Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence - particularly Angelica Fontes and Ruth Zakarin for your collaboration and leadership on this event in the City of Lynn: “Imagining Community Safety.” An important community space. Before last September, I never thought I would join the “statistic” of those impacted directly by gun violence— but the sobering reality set in when my cousin was murdered senselessly in my grandmother’s backyard. Since then our world has been shaken, BUT we have work to do to prevent this from happening and it takes ALL OF US!!!! This event was about collective responsibility and I am so thankful we had the opportunity to create this beautiful and HOPEFUL space for community… This is just the beginning…. 💪🏽🤞🏽 #endgunviolence #gunviolenceprevention #community #collectiveresponsibility

Roca's involvement with @Auerfarm is showcased in Hartford Foundation's Annual Report! On that farm the young moms aren’t a long distance from their daily lives, but it must seem like they are a world away. What a great environment to heal and learn. Thank you to 4-H Education Center at Auerfarm and the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving for their support of this work. Watch the whole video here: https://hubs.la/Q02z_dJw0
