Incarcerated Youth Tutorial Project

Education Administration Programs

Challenging the School-to-Prison Pipeline one student at a time.

About us

IYTP was founded as a project by the Muslim Student Association in 1988, and continues to embody those values: intentionality, holistic community model, and excellence and integrity in all aspects. IYTP seeks to address the systemic inequalities posed by the criminal justice system in the United States, especially the school-to-prison pipeline. In working with students in juvenile detention centers and at-risk students, IYTP focuses on education and peer mentorship to develop lasting partnerships and ties to the community to reduce recidivism rates and help address these systematic issues within our local community. In addition, IYTP seeks to support fellow inmates locally and wherever possible through education and personal relationships.
