Last week, 52 high school students participated in Rawls College's third annual Business Career Awareness Program (BCAP), nearly doubling last year's attendance. This group included students from various high schools in Lubbock County, Dallas/Fort Worth, McAllen/Weslaco, and even as far as Chicago. Participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in student life on the Texas Tech University campus, attend special business presentations by Rawls College faculty, and apply their knowledge in a real-world business simulation. A special thanks to keynote speaker Monica De La Cruz, United States Representative for Texas's 15th Congressional District, and to our sponsors, EY, Lubbock National Bank, PwC, and Robert Madden Industries. Recently, a team of Lubbock staff dedicated a morning to volunteer at our nearby South Plains Food Bank. This initiative was in collaboration with Bryant Home Comfort's objective of achieving 600 volunteer hours with Feeding America, marking their 120th anniversary. In three hours, 25 of us packed over 1,100 bags of bread and filled 12 pallets with 864 boxes of dry foods – setting a new record!
