Grubhub’s delivery partners are essential to thousands of communities and businesses — including our own — and we are committed to helping ensure that these partners have safe, certified e-bike access. One way we are making good on this commitment is by launching an expanded partnership with NYC delivery e-bike rental platform, JOCO. With learnings from our 2023 pilot program with JOCO, we are expanding our partnership in 2024 to increase access to safe e-bike equipment and further spread awareness on e-bike, battery, and charging safety. On top of that, we’re co-sponsoring two hubs that any Grubhub biker can use to rest, charge their phone, get gear, use the restroom, and receive e-bike safety materials. We are also providing monthly credits for select Grubhub bikers to use on JOCO e-bikes to help offset operational costs and provide safe charging/storage. We are already seeing the impact of this partnership as the two hubs are supporting hundreds of e-bike battery swaps each day, but we know our work is not done.  Our partnership with JOCO is just one piece of our broader E-Bike Lifecycle safety program, and in the weeks to come, we look forward to sharing more.

At JOCO, our mission is to remove cars and trucks from the streets for last-mile delivery while improving the lives of couriers, and this initiative brings us one step closer. Why ban e-bikes and light electric vehicles when you can store and charge them safely? As the crisis around lithium ion batteries continues to grow, we've been hard at work producing our proprietary battery charging cabinets, and we are proud to announce that we are the first mobility company in NYC to receive FDNY approval. E-bikes and light electric vehicles improve our quality of life and are growing faster than any other electric vehicle segment. Incorporating safe e-bike charging facilities should be a top priority for all building owners and tenants (residential & commercial), and all last mile delivery companies.
