Last week, Turner Construction Company joined us for a workshop on soft skills such as interview prep, networking tips, and creating an elevator pitch. These skills can make the difference between success and struggle for our Careers in Construction students. This past Thursday, over 250 guests joined us for our 10th annual Rebuild NYC Gala to celebrate excellence in leadership and our commitment to making NYC an equitable and livable place for people from all backgrounds. It was a reminder of how many roads lead to Rebuilding Together NYC and how many different stories come together in this work. I had an awesome opportunity to chat with these incredible young men and women at Rebuilding Together NYC and this question really stood out to me. Giving back is at the heart of SERHANT.’s mission. That’s why we have initiatives like SERHANT S.erves, a day of service where our agents and staff give back to our communities, programs like Free Year NYC, and support for veterans on Sellit.com. I’m super fortunate to be an honoree for this year’s Rebuild NYC Gala and would love your help in supporting their mission to change the lives of so many New Yorkers.

Talk about commitment! My pre-apprenticeship students, along with some friends, both old and new, camped out for 3 WHOLE NIGHTS this weekend, on an NYC sidewalk - all for the chance to snag an application for UA Plumbers Local 1! This kind of grit and determination is what gets me FIRED UP! These young people are building their futures, brick by brick (or should I say, pipe by pipe!), and I couldn't be more proud to be a part of their journey. Their dedication is a testament to the strength of the NYC Building and Construction Trades. We need skilled professionals, and these students are stepping up to answer the call. They know a career in the trades offers stability, great benefits, and endless opportunities for growth. This is the future of the industry, folks, and it's looking BRIGHT!
