Congratulations to the graduates of Intervine Cohort 24-3 on completing their training last month! Swipe to see snapshots of the amazing environmental impact they made in the community. A special thanks to The Green-Wood Cemetery, New York Restoration Project, Gowanus Canal Conservancy, New Roots Bronx Community Farm, Bronx River Alliance, The Trust for Governors Island, North Brooklyn Parks Alliance, Solar One, and Trees New York for partnering with us in these efforts.

We had two fantastic virtual Interview Projects in June! Our first Interview Project in collaboration with LGT Private Banking was a success. Our second Interview Project was in collaboration with UBS. A special thank you to our Board member, Susan Elolampi, for her exceptional coordination and support. We appreciate our volunteers and partners for their efforts in conducting mock interviews and providing valuable feedback to our jobseekers. #workforcedevelopment #interviewprep #volunteerappreciation

Happy Pride! This week, HOPE hosted a conversation for #PrideMonth centered on intersectionality, allyship, and cultural identity. A special thank you to our Board member Julienne H. Silverman for moderating the conversation, Jako Borren of the Brooklyn Community Pride Center, and HOPE’s very own Julian D Stillman and Janelle Kelty for their vulnerability and courage to speak with us about their experiences as members of the LGBTQ+ community. The HOPE Program is proud to support queer and trans New Yorkers - this June and year-round - in showing up as their authentic selves, both at work and within the community at large.

As part of my leadership work, I’m delighted to join The HOPE Program as a Board Member! It’s exciting to extend the work I do around creating scalable systems, building organizational culture, and helping leaders grow their companies to an organization that I’ve admired and supported for so many years. I began working with HOPE in 2009, when I founded Butter Beans. Paul Neuman introduced me to their job readiness program, HOPEworks, from which we hired dozens of HOPE graduates. In the spirit of their slogan, “When you’re HOPE, you’re HOPE for life!” I’m thrilled to be joining HOPE in this new service capacity. My first Board Meeting opened with a warm welcome from Robert Goldstein who made heartfelt remarks about this incredible program in which he has served as Treasurer on the Executive Board and as a Board Member for the past 19 years. He spoke about HOPE's mission in making the world a better place one person at a time and he will continue to be ‘HOPE for Life!’ Executive Director Tracey Capers joined HOPE nine months ago and has proven to be a driving force leading HOPE in all of the amazing programs they offer. She already put me to work at a mock interview day a couple of weeks ago where I had the opportunity to meet current HOPE students and help them practice their interview skills. HOPE's Programs: 🔵HOPEworks - develops vital skills such as digital literacy, basic math, financial planning, communication, conflict resolution, resume writing, job applications, and interview readiness. 🔵Sustainable South Bronx (SSBx) - offers training in green construction and maintenance careers, covering topics in environmental justice, carpentry, utilities, building mechanics, energy auditing, and industry certifications. 🔵NYC CoolRoofs - facilitates paid transitional work opportunities to coat NYC rooftops, improving energy efficiency with proper insulation. 🔵Intervine - compensates HOPE workers as part of a transitional employment program that carries out green infrastructure and maintenance contracts across NYC. 🔵Green and Clean HVAC - prepares individuals for careers in the growing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and heat pump sector. To all companies and individuals who care about workforce development and its critical role in our economy, please consider financially contributing to this meaningful organization that empowers and trains New Yorkers to find sustainable employment and receive continued support in their careers. To all companies looking for a pipeline of dedicated employees, please consider partnering with HOPE to hire their graduates. 🔵To learn more - https://lnkd.in/e2eey_qt 🔵To get involved - https://lnkd.in/eTYhmMdW 🔵To donate - https://lnkd.in/eJt4Qge8 Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 13, 2024, 9:00 am at Riverside Park, Hustle for HOPE 5K! I ‘HOPE’ to see you there! #WorkForceDevelopment #GreenJobs #Leadership #ChooseYourMetrics
