We are thrilled that Aditya Ghadiali has joined Quilt as a Staff Engineer, specializing in sensor systems and design. Aditya spent six years at Google where he led sensors integration in over five products from inception to mass production. Have you ever had to wave your hands to let a system know you’re there? Not with Quilt! Aditya built out Quilt’s presence sensing so you’ll never have that hassle. Our system senses when you leave the room and automatically switches to Eco Mode, and seamlessly switches back when you return. This saves energy so your monthly energy bills are lower and your climate impact is smaller. Aditya’s incredible expertise in millimeter wave technology is a core reason that Quilt is the smartest, most efficient way to heat and cool your home. Quilt, and the planet, are so glad he’s here. Welcome to the Quilt team, Aditya! - Paul, Matthew, & Bill

It was a pleasure to welcome Tim Echols, Georgia’s Public Service Commissioner and an influential advocate for sustainable energy technologies, to tour the Quilt Home last month. Tim shares our belief that energy technologies like mini-splits can’t just be more efficient, they also need to make economic sense and improve homeowners' quality of life. Listen to Tim’s reaction to seeing our product in person (“These things look like they’re a piece of art in every room!)” and his conversation with Paul Lambert on this week's Energy Matters podcast: https://lnkd.in/gXfBUeVY

We invited the Bay Area design community to the Quilt Home last week for a tour, a talk by our industrial designers Mike & Maaike, and the opportunity to dig in with our team and ask questions. The group was particularly excited about the details: our customizable front panels, the matte glass of the Dial, and our SEER2 rating of 25. Architects, builders, and interior designers are some of the strongest advocates for heat pumps. We were so impressed by this group’s commitment to sustainability in their projects, and their thoughtful design and installation feedback. Thank you to our co-host Leah Harmatz and to Min Design Co, Perez Construction, Christopher Haas, MBH Architects, Banner Day Interiors and many others for joining us! If any other local home design professionals are interested in learning more about Quilt, we’d love to meet you.

While they each bring something different to Quilt, our founders Paul Lambert, Matthew Knoll, and Bill Kee are similarly motivated. They’re Climate Dads. They’re driven by a desire to ensure a healthy planet for their children and future generations. Wishing a happy Father’s Day to all the dads who make the world a place worth protecting! P.S. Want one of these limited edition Heat Pump Dad shirts? DM us on Instagram @meetquilt and we'll send some to a lucky few!

Quilt is designed to blend in or stand out. Thank you for the feature, Design Milk! https://lnkd.in/g7vBmv3Q
HVAC aesthetics have typically been an afterthought, and homeowners have had to allow unsightly units to intrude on their thoughtful interiors. After all the work I put into my home I wanted a HVAC system that blended into the home and was an upgrade. We designed Quilt to be both subtle and customizable. You can design your Quilt to seamlessly blend in with the rest of your home, or have it make a statement. Paint it, wallpaper it, use the accent light to frame your favorite piece — if you can imagine it, it can be done. Thanks to Gregory Han for this thoughtful piece in Design Milk, and of course, to Mike & Maaike for their partnership, design vision, and execution. https://lnkd.in/g7vBmv3Q

Accent lighting, customizable panels, sleek and modern finishes: When building Quilt, we knew it had to be more than the most efficient heat pump on the market. It also had to be beautiful. We teamed up with the brilliant designers Mike & Maaike to make sure Quilt would elevate the aesthetics of the home rather than detract from them. Take a peek behind the curtain to understand how Quilt’s design came to be in this great piece from Dezeen.
"This is as much a design problem as it is an engineering challenge. For too long, the heat pump product category has suffered from being in a design desert." For most heat pumps, aesthetic concerns have always seemed to be an afterthought. It's easy to ignore aesthetics – it's squishy! you can't put a number on it – but they matter. Especially inside a home. From the very first day of building Quilt, we believed form was going to matter just as much as function. And we also knew that Mike & Maaike, with their their unique experience working at the intersection of furniture and technology, were the perfect team to make our vision real. Every part of Quilt’s system has been thoughtfully considered by this extraordinary design team: The accent light and paintable (or wallpaper-able!) panel elevates the presence of the indoor unit, while giving homeowners agency to incorporate their own personal touches. The outdoor unit — typically an unsightly beast that people camouflage with fencing — now makes a simple-but-modern addition to the outside of any home. Thank you Mike & Maaike, needless to say we couldn't have done this without you. Check out their interview with Dezeen to learn more. https://lnkd.in/gP3vNzYx

A few weeks ago, we gathered in the first home to be fully outfitted with Quilt to announce our launch. Quilt is now available to reserve across the US and Canada. Our reimagined heat pump offers a comfortable, efficient home climate experience without relying on fossil fuels. It was extra special to celebrate Quilt’s launch with a group of people eager to contribute to our electric future. Tom Steyer helped us kick things off with a fireside chat, where we talked about climate optimism, alongside climate advocates like Andrew McAllister, Darcie L. H., and longtime supporters and friends of Quilt. It’s always refreshing to be reminded of the hope that exists in the climate space, and we’re proud to be a part of it. We're grateful for everyone who joined us, both virtually and in person. Check out our livestream recording (https://rb.gy/e7v2ud), where our founders share many reasons to feel hopeful about the future of home heating and cooling 🌎⚡️

“Not only do heat pumps work fine in cold weather, they’re still more efficient than gas furnaces in such conditions.” In his recent WIRED article, Matt Simon dismantles one of the most persistent myths about heat pumps: that they become ineffective as soon as temperatures drop. The truth is that heat pumps are thriving in some of the coldest regions on Earth, from the Nordic countries to Alaska. Heat pumps are a game-changer for reducing emissions and moving towards an electric future. As Quilt CEO Paul Lambert puts it: “We are moving past combustion as our primary heat source, for our homes and our families, for the first time in human history.” Read the article here👇

Drum roll, please… Quilt, the smartest way to heat and cool your home, is available to reserve today! We couldn’t be more excited to launch to the world. This Fast Company story by Adele Peters highlights how Quilt’s heat pump system is the answer for homeowners in search of a sleek, seamless home climate solution. “We’re just trying to remove the biggest friction, and the biggest friction is around the appeal of the product itself,” Quilt’s co-founder @Paul Lambert tells Peters. “So let’s have the product be something that feels like a treat in your home. It should be beautiful. It should do everything you’d be used to a smart thermostat doing, and more. And it should also be really easy to buy. It should be clear how much it costs, and it should be clear who’s going to do the installation." Check out Quilt.com to see how Quilt has reimagined home heating and cooling for the modern homeowner with a beautifully designed product, advanced sensors so you’re not heating and cooling empty rooms, point of sale rebates, installation by Quilt’s expert team, and so much more. Quilt is now available to reserve in the US and Canada. The future of home heating and cooling is here!
