'Social' infrastructure represents the crucial organizations, places and spaces that enable communities and people to create social connections, cohesion and safety. Behind these frontline organizations sit what we collectively refer to as Social Impact Infrastructure Organizations (SIIOs). They are the indispensable backbone for philanthropic, social investment, nonprofit, and civil society success. They are the conveners, networks, platforms, trainers, educators, researchers, media outlets, advocates, data providers, #techforgoodies and #SocialAccelerators needed to build the future we all want to see. At their side stand the incredible funders who invest in their work, knowing it will have an enabling and leverage effect in the field. What a pleasure meeting Kate Newman of INTRAC to learn how this vital civil society support organisation builds the skills and knowledge of civil society around the world to be more effective in addressing poverty and inequality. It was heartening to learn that she came across our network and campaign thanks to Comic Relief reading a Propel article in Alliance magazine. Do check out INTRAC's strategy launch this Wednesday.
