Inspiring life in the heart of Atlanta

About us

The Piedmont Park Conservancy is a member and donor-funded nonprofit organization working in partnership with the city of Atlanta to ensure Piedmont Park is an iconic park for all neighborhoods of metro Atlanta. Since 1989, we have invested over $66 million in capital improvements for Piedmont Park. Today, the Conservancy requires over $3.5 million dollars in donations every year in order to manage and enhance Piedmont Park and its programs. The Conservancy contributes to the Park’s beautification through detail-focused landscaping, volunteer projects and capital improvements. Major concentration areas include the Active Oval, dog parks, pool, EnviroVentures Camp, tours, facility rentals, Green Market and field trips. Additionally, we consult on best management practices for Park events and festivals to protect Piedmont Park and ensure a positive experience for all users.

The Piedmont Park Conservancy is excited to issue a Request for Proposals (RFPs) for planning services related to the development of a new Comprehensive Plan for Piedmont Park. Piedmont Park’s last Comprehensive Plan was developed in 1995 and has largely been realized. The Conservancy celebrates its 35th Anniversary in 2024 while Piedmont Park celebrates 120 years as a city park. Coupled with the unprecedented opportunity to expand the park’s acreage and amenities to the corner of Piedmont Avenue and Monroe Drive in concert with the proximate expansion of the Atlanta BeltLine and Atlanta Botanical Garden, the time is right for a new comprehensive plan and vision for Piedmont Park to guide its development and ensure its role as the Beating Green Heart of Atlanta for decades to come. The Comprehensive Plan is envisioned to cover a time period of 15-20 years and be bold and innovative. It should push the boundaries of what the future of urban parks can be and do, set the standard for city parks in the Southeast U.S. and beyond, and reflect a diverse, growing, resilient, and sustainable Atlanta. More information on the planning process and the RFP can be found at https://lnkd.in/e25SCcJk. Proposals are due Friday, May 24. Questions can be addressed to: plan@piedmontpark.org.

Through this Sunday you can help Fund A Need for Piedmont Park! Yesterday, the Piedmont Park Conservancy celebrated its 27th Annual Landmark Luncheon where funds were raised for various causes in and around our iconic Piedmont Park. And while this year’s event may be behind us, our enduring commitment to improving, enhancing, and celebrating the park we all know and love continues - day by day, month by month, year by year. So whether it's $1,000 for field trip discounts for 500 students, $250 for 20 feet of railing improvements, or $100 for a week’s worth of doggie bags, every dollar we raise goes directly to fund a specific need for the park. If you can give to this years Fund A Need, we welcome your donation through Sunday. And, as always, thank you for continuing to support Piedmont Park. Give Now! https://ow.ly/35QW50RptZO #ppc35 #ppc35th #piedmontpark

Thank you for supporting today’s Landmark Luncheon celebrating the past 35 years, recommitting to our present, and envisioning our next 35+ years as the nonprofit champion of Atlanta’s historic and most visited park—exceeding 6 million visitors annually! Your generosity raised over $480,000, all of which goes to support our beautification and programming initiatives. Congratulations to our honorees, Curley M. Dossman, Jr., President, Georgia Pacific Community Programs, with the Legacy Award and the City of Atlanta with the Green Giant Award. There is still time to support the Piedmont Park Conservancy and raise $500,000 towards this year's luncheon. You can visit the link below to donate through Sunday as a part of today's event. These funds will work to preserve and enhance our beloved Piedmont Park. Give Today! https://ow.ly/5CGO50RopvF

We are thrilled to have had Anisa International, Inc. join us in a dynamic Earth Day and Volunteer Appreciation Week celebration! Their team hit the ground running, diving into projects across the Park. From laying down pine straw at the Promenade to spreading mulch near Park Drive/Gazebo and clearing out overgrown vegetation, they left no corner untouched. Piedmont Park Conservancy is beyond thankful for their collaboration, igniting stunning transformations throughout the Park!

The Piedmont Park Conservancy is celebrating its 35th Anniversary! Back in 1989, a small group of community members came together to establish the Piedmont Park Conservancy. Our role then is the same as it is today: To preserve, protect and enhance Piedmont Park for all Atlantans. Operating in partnership with the City of Atlanta, the Conservancy has raised and contributed more than $110M to restore the park and build and maintain new features. But we’re just getting started. This spring we’re launching an ambitious and comprehensive park planning initiative that will engage city leaders, community members and park visitors on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to expand and enhance the park we all love. You can learn more at the links in our bio. Finally, we recognize that our work would not be possible without the efforts of the various foundations, corporate sponsors, patrons, donors, volunteers, board members, staff members and park visitors. Thank you for your continued commitment to this special place in the heart of Atlanta. #ppc35, #ppc35th, #piedmontpark Learn more about our 35th Anniversary: https://lnkd.in/eEtyMvqn Learn more about our 2024 Comprehensive Plan: https://lnkd.in/e25SCcJk
