Last Saturday, Pacific Power and the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife joined together to host the 24th annual Merwin Day of Fishing for Kids with Disabilities at the Merwin Fish Hatchery near Woodland, Washington. The event brought together over 200 children and 300 family members and volunteers. Participants were each able to catch up to five fish, which were then cleaned and put on ice while they enjoyed a celebratory barbeque. As one participant noted, it is the "best day of the year." Since early May, we've hosted 9 forums in Oregon (Medford, Coos Bay, Pendleton, Wasco, Hood River, Bend, Linn County, Lincoln City, and Astoria) and one in Yakima, Washington. These events highlighted how we're enhancing safety and reliability through investments in advanced meteorology programs, grid upgrades, and advanced technology to monitor the system while increasing inspections and vegetation maintenance on our lines. Thank you to everyone who joined us in discussing ways to keep our communities safe! In case you missed them, all of the forum recordings are available in English and Spanish on our YouTube channel- https://lnkd.in/gHV9epMN
