Teens spend an average of nearly 5 hours a day on social media. When so much of their time is spent on the internet, we need to carefully consider ways to mitigate any harmful effects on their mental health — that’s why U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy is calling for warning labels on social media platforms. 📰 NAMI Chicago is encouraged by Dr. Murthy’s advocacy. NAMI Chicago CEO Alexa James MS, LCSW recently delivered a keynote at #ExploranceWorld2024 on the importance of employee feedback in building a culture of wellness. 💬 Employees need the opportunity to 1) provide input on the elements of their work that contribute to burnout, 2) feel heard by senior leadership and their managers and 3) see changes made as a result. #AI is providing a new avenue for collecting and analyzing this feedback, but underlining that process has to be a commitment from leadership to implement wellness strategies in response.
