Happy Friday - #TGIF! We are proud to spotlight Stefanie Carranza, a Supportive Housing Specialist on the Foundational Community Supports (FCS) team. She is a #DedicatedEmployee! Stefanie said, "In my position, I believe that it truly boils down to the beauty of working within the realm of #PeerSupport. We all face challenges in our lives, but when we are able to connect with someone on a deep level and they understand that we are working with their entire being - not just the side of them that struggles with addiction, mental health, or homelessness - there is a noticeable shift in their behavior. This connection helps them to calm down and trust the process more, as if they are finally able to breathe." Stefanie continued, "I have had the privilege of working with individuals who have a long history of #incarceration, #homelessness, and #SevereTraumas. Helping these individuals advocate for themselves, work towards their unique goals, and witness them achieve their goals is where the true reward lies for me. This is not an easy job by any means, and unfortunately, the losses we experience may impact us even more than in other Pioneer programs I have been a part of. However, when a client succeeds and shares that success with us, it is also a victory for us." Stefanie concluded, "As mentioned, I have had the privilege of working with several individuals who have been impacted by the judicial system. In fact, 76% of my current caseload has had some involvement with the judicial system. In this role, I am privileged to help empower them to become the person they want to be and be a part of that journey. We have all faced challenges, but sometimes it takes someone else to recognize our potential and empower us. This is my favorite aspect of working at Pioneer." Dre Hoyt, FCS Supervisor, shared, "Stefanie’s dedication to empowering and supporting clients is unmatched. Her pragmatic and solution-focused approach has aided countless individuals in their housing and recovery journeys." #GratitudePost #TeamPlayer #GivingBack #SupportServices #BuildingTrust #CompassionateCare

We have built a community on LinkedIn, where it's a platform to network and foster connections. The interactions and values we uphold on LinkedIn can serve as a blueprint for how we engage with others in our daily lives, whether it’s at the grocery store, in our neighborhoods, or during everyday encounters. Like the Palestinian people, mental health, and homelessness, what we all need most is each other. I know we are all looking for our next opportunity, but at what cost? Do you lose your community and/or compassion? How do we foster that in our day-to-day life? Think about that- not just on here on LinkedIn, but in your day-to-day life, with the interactions of an everyday person who has nothing to offer you. How do you live in the values you post? Answer Key: show kindness to strangers, actively listen to others, or maybe even volunteer in local initiatives. There’s an infinite list to tune into your humanity. #community #empathy #compassion

🌿Integrative Trauma Coach & Conscious Leadership Mentor 🌀Somatic Experiencing, IFS, Nervous System, Safe & Sound, Psychedelic Prep/Integration, Energy, & Spirituality 💫Teaching You How to Embody Your Authentic Self
This post is an attempt to reach like-minded folks as I have found myself being an unintentional pioneer in the psychedelic and decriminalization fields. I say unintentional, because advocating for psychedelic healing and decriminalization just makes common sense as we are in a massive mental health and Trauma crisis. It's ethical and humane to advocate and advance psychedelic healing forward so that folks can heal. Below you will read a bit about my psychedelic resume. ➡️I have been a MAPS-approved Trauma-Trained Psychedelic Preparation and Integration Professional the past five years. I was the first Counselor in my state to do so. Which has been rewarding and difficult. Difficult because I've been misunderstood and was socially ostracized from my field for years and years for speaking up about psychedelic healing. It's been really hard to advance things along in the repressed Midwest. ➡️I co-founded the decriminalization movement, Decrim Iowa, in my state. You can check us out at www.decrimiowa.org ➡️I have taught at the Masters Counseling and Continuing Education levels at four midwestern Universities - Drake University, The University of Iowa, Minnesota State University, and North Dakota State University. ➡️And I have worked on a Substance Abuse Mental and Health Services (SAMHSA) grant in collaboration with the federal Opioid Task Force to teach Psychedelic Harm Reduction to rural communities. I've taught and consulted with Therapists, Doctors, Harm Reduction Staff, Addiction Specialists, Indigenous Elders, Shamans, Nurses, Healers, and Ketamine Clinics. ➡️I've contributed to several research studies on Psychedelic Integration - one with MIT. ➡️I've built bridges to colleagues and collaborators. ➡️I've integrated thousands of transcendent, difficult, and Traumatizing Psychedelic experiences for folks all over the Midwest and world. And I am here to testify that the Midwest and world isn't okay. So I'm putting it out there that I am available for conferences, trainings, and podcasts in 2024 so we can move Psychedelic healing and Decriminalization along in Trauma-Informed and Trauma-Trained ways - including cultural competency. #psychedelics #psychedelictherapy #psychdelicresearch #decriminalization #decrimiowa #Trauma #mentalhealth #Iowa #Midwest #traumainformed #executivecoaching #executivecoach #leadershipdevelopment #psychedelicintegration
