Earlier this month, a team of Mission Health Trailblaze Troopers set off at 4:00 a.m. for a one-day, 28.3 mile hike challenge with Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina! And to ensure their safety, our Mission Sports Medicine team also participated as part of the Medic Teams at rest stations and along the trail. 💫 Mission Health is proud to sponsor the Trailblaze Challenge – the ultimate fundraising endurance event on the Foothills Trail, raising $395,000 to help grant wishes to critically ill children in our region. These three incredible colleagues completed the challenge, and two more are set to hike in October. 👶🧷 Our Physician Services leadership team had the opportunity to make a small impact by supporting Western North Carolina's only diaper bank, Babies Need Bottoms this week by volunteering and also making a donation of nearly 1,200 diapers and wipes. We learned that nearly 1 in 2 families struggle to afford enough diapers to keep their children clean, dry and healthy. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the need in our community and support the families of WNC.
