Mather is piloting hydroponic gardens! It's an exciting venture as we test our green thumbs. We are currently cultivating a variety of produce, including tomatoes, lettuce, and herbs, with the hope of implementing these self-contained mini gardens for older adults living in Chicagoland.

We’re excited to share that a recent article in India Currents magazine showcases several research papers by Mather Institute's Mushira Mohsin Khan, PhD. Dr. Khan’s research explores changes that older South Asian-Americans are going through, including a shift away from relying on their children as they age, while still providing support and wisdom to children and grandchildren. On Father’s Day, a group of Mather team members, residents, and family members walked together in the Ricky Byrdsong Memorial Race Against Hate in Evanston, Illinois. This annual run/walk demonstrates unity against racial hatred and violence. We were delighted to support this important community event!
