A few weeks ago, Gary and Shelly Henriott hosted an event on IU Health's vision for west central Indiana. Our campaign, All the Difference, will raise funds to address the region’s most pressing healthcare needs, as identified by IU Health and community leaders: - Cardiovascular care - Workforce development - Cancer care - Orthopedics - Neuroscience - Infant and maternal health Learn more about the campaign here: https://bit.ly/4eR1aIP
About us
IU Health Foundation leverages the power of philanthropy to support the IU Health vision of making Indiana one of the nation’s healthiest states. When you give to IU Health, you aren’t just making a donation—you’re making All the Difference. Philanthropic support allows IU Health to: - Drive changes that transform the health of all Hoosiers, now and for the future - Ensure that no Hoosiers need to look outside our home state to access the very best care — regardless of how serious or complex the diagnosis - Deliver care outside the walls of our hospitals and clinics to address social impediments to wellness - Ensure that IU Health remains a leader as healthcare evolves and new health challenges come along - Empower IU Health team members to think innovatively, accelerate implementation, and address the challenges that lead to breakthroughs - Honor past and current donor intentions by ensuring that dollars designated for local needs stay in the community.

Thank you to Jack Georgeann and Stacey Connaughton for their gift of a bell to the radiation treatment area of the cancer center at IU Health Arnett. Prior to this donation, patients who completed radiation oncology treatment would have to visit the medical oncology unit to ring the bell, and their care team would not be able to join. "For many patients, ringing a bell at the conclusion of their cancer treatment celebrates the effort required to reach that milestone," says Dr. Matthew Orton. "This generous donation will allow patients the opportunity to celebrate with their loved ones and their radiation oncology care team."

We had a wonderful time teaching IU Health Fellows from Crispus Attucks High School about healthcare philanthropy last week. And we wish them well as they learn more at IU Health and pursue their career dreams! Congratulations to our final 2024 Lynda A. Merriman Award Winner for Compassionate Care, Julia Kelly, Physical Therapy Assistant! It’s not uncommon to see Kelly sitting on the floor with patients, tissues in hand, as patients talk about their struggles. Kelly is quick with a hug and words of encouragement, and she often makes it clear to colleagues and patients that she thinks about them even when she’s not with them.

We are grateful to David Morgan, and his support towards the Jerome Josephs Transplant Family Support Fund. While recovering from his lung transplant, he met Hal Miller who was also recovering from a lung transplant. The two supported each other so that one day they might both be healthy enough to play a round of golf together. We are so happy that day has arrived! Check out this video highlighting their friendship: https://bit.ly/4ez0JCF
