We unite Republicans, Democrats, and independents in the movement to fix our broken political system and build an inclusive democracy that works for everyone. Through expert analysis, research, innovative ideas, and open and transparent communication, we pride ourselves on defending our democratic processes and advocating for commonsense and bipartisan solutions. We offer nonpartisan education to the public to illuminate the power of democracy, increase knowledge about our elections, strengthen ethics and accountability promote good governance, and diminish the corrosive influence of big money in politics. Co-founded by Nick Penniman and Amelia Leonardi, industry leaders in philanthropy, media, politics, and social entrepreneurship, Issue One offers unbiased resources to help the public re-engage and invest in politics. Powered by a mission-driven team, former members of Congress, governors, Cabinet officials, and election officials, we are bringing attention to and combating the current threats and challenges facing our democracy by focusing on key issue areas such as elections and election administration, disinformation, dark money, ethics, fixing Congress, social media harms, and more.
