In America, we don't really have conventional election observers, and so we don't really have conventional election observation reports, but this report is about as close as we get, and is a deep dive into the problems with reconciling Georgia's (the state, not the country) 2020 election results. We already have a majority of citizens who doubt the 2024 elections will be free and fair, and until we can institute a transparent and verifiable election process, I'm afraid voters will increasingly doubt the legitimacy of our elected representatives. https://lnkd.in/ea6TDPjb

As Pennsylvania approaches the upcoming election cycle, a concerning trend has emerged. The state has witnessed an unprecedented turnover in its election officials. "The state has lost a combined 293 years of experience among the top county election officials" as compared to 2019. As we move closer to the November elections, the importance of adequate preparation cannot be overstated. We're facing a scenario where many officials overseeing the elections are stepping into these critical roles for the first time, shouldering a responsibility that is vital to our democracy. It's critical that states support election officials through training and ensuring they have access to the resources necessary to carry out their duties effectively. Missteps in election administration not only undermine public trust but can have far-reaching consequences for the integrity of our democratic system. . I'm thrilled to announce that today we launched ElectionDeniers.org, a new interactive data hub that provides the full picture of the Election Denier movement across the country. The tool is the first of its kind, tracking state-by-state where Election Deniers have power over elections; candidates who are running for statewide offices with election oversight power; state legislative proposals to change how elections are run; and voter turnout data. In early 2024, the tracking will expand to include Congress and additional analysis on election denial. The data is clear: Almost every single state has had to confront the threat of election denial since it grew into a dangerous new movement during the 2020 election cycle. And the very large majority—47 states—have had an Election Denier run for or hold a statewide office with election oversight power. Whether there’s an Election Denier on their ballot or sitting in their governor’s mansion, conspiracy theorists trying to stop election officials from doing their jobs, or a state or local official who was at the Capitol on Jan. 6—every voter deserves the complete picture of the threat to their elections as we head into 2024.
