We are grateful for The Home Depot Foundation's partnership on a recent Critical Home Repair project in Charlotte. With their support, we provided transformational repairs for a neighbor in need. The repairs included replacing the roof, furnace, AC unit, water heater, and plumbing fixtures, repairing exterior rot damage, adding a ramp at the front entry, and more. #TeamDepot #RepairCorps

On June 19, 1865, news of freedom reached Galveston, Texas - more than two years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation. This meant that more than 250,000 enslaved people in Texas finally had freedom. This holiday, known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, celebrates the achievements, resilience, and contributions of Black individuals and communities.

Habitat Charlotte Region is soliciting bids for horizontal construction services for the Legacy Vista Infrastructure Development Project, a 3.3-acre, 14-unit single family subdivision located off Toddville Road in northwest Charlotte. The project, partially funded with federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), and Housing Trust Fund (HTF), will provide affordable homeownership opportunities for families 80% AMI and below. The project includes grading, storm drainage infrastructure, paving, sidewalks and additional horizontal site preparation.      The bid deadline is 7/19/24 at 2 pm. Bids can be mailed or hand delivered to 3816 Latrobe Drive, Charlotte, NC 28211 but must be received by the deadline.
