Very exciting to see this project come to life.
The Grand Opening for the Hazel Ying Lee Apartments was a phenomenal celebration! As the largest affordable housing project built from the Portland Housing Bond, featuring 206 new homes, this project underscores the power of unity and dedication in addressing housing needs and fostering community well-being. Our appreciation to each leader who spoke to commemorate this joyful occasion- Home Forward CEO Ivory Mathews, City of Portland Commissioner Carmen Caballero Rubio, Joint Office of Homeless Services Director Daniel Field, Oregon Housing & Community Services (OHCS), Mary Li, U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development, Region 10 Administrator, Andrew Lofton, and our President & CEO of Colas Construction, Andrew Colas! It was wonderful to connect with the family of Hazel Ying Lee, who served during World War II. She was a trailblazer for women and Chinese Americans in aviation, and we are forever inspired that her story will be known. A loud round of applause for our project partners and team!
