When a severe storm damaged a 12-mile stretch of 345kV transmission line near Buffalo, Texas last year, Oncor Electric Delivery called on us to restore the critical line quickly. Damage included fallen and mangled towers and some of which had landed on one of the busiest highways in Texas. Our teams were on site the very next day to begin assessing damage, to test and ground lines, clean up and reconstruct the section of transmission line. Working closely with Oncor and using exceptional logistical planning, local labor and fleet resources, our team was able to complete the job within seven weeks – beating the planned schedule! “When they have something this intense happen, they know all they have to do is pick up the phone and call Great Southwestern, call MYR Group, and that we will respond in any way necessary to provide the assistance they need. This [project] was a true picture of our professional relationship with Oncor,” Regional Manager Ryan Little said.
