As we approach the start of the summer Olympics, check out this article from Parents that puts the spotlight on mental health and the role that trained coaches play in supporting youth. The article recognizes the important work of the Million Coaches Challenge and features the examples set by athletes Simone Biles and Naomi Osaka. As a proud member of this cohort, Girls on the Run understands the importance of equipping coaches with trainings that empower them to support emotionally safe environments and create positive youth outcomes. The Million Coaches Challenge furthers the work of Girls on the Run to change what it means to be a coach by giving girls the confidence to succeed beyond the finish line! #MillionCoachesChallenge #SusanCrownExchange #GirlsOnTheRun #Olympics #Paris2024 #RoadToParis2024 Susan Crown Exchange The Aspen Institute

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, evidence-based curriculum that incorporates movement.
About us
Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness. Girls on the Run International (GOTRI) is the parent organization of more than 200 Girls on the Run councils across the United States and Canada. GOTRI establishes, trains and supports a network of community-level councils with local volunteers. The volunteers serve as role models to the girls through coaching the 10-week, 20 lesson curricula. The curriculum is delivered in these areas through after-school programs, recreation centers and other non-profit settings. Mission: We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Vision: We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
