About us

GiANT is a global media and content development company specializing in leader transformation. Working in over 100 countries, our vision is to unlock the potential of people. We're here to take your leaders to higher levels. Our vision (or "heroic goal" as we like to call it) is to raise up liberating leaders in every major city and every major sector of the world. To do this, we focus on 1) Increasing the number of secure leaders inside an organization 2) Raising the leadership capacity of those leaders, and 3) Accelerating the growth of the leadership culture of these organizations. At the heart of everything we do is apprenticeship. It's the secret sauce. For us, apprenticeship is all about intentional, long-term calibration of high support and high challenge, all within a small group environment. It is here where master craftsmen multiply their skills and expertise into the lives of those they are apprenticing. Rather than being an academic exercise, everything is applied learning. From day one, leaders use visual tools as a means of addressing the leadership challenges they are currently wrestling with.

"What's it like to be on the other side of you?" The key for anyone striving to become a better leader is to answer this question honestly. Self-awareness is a crucial part of the leadership journey, and becoming aware of how people perceive you is step number one. Asking this question regularly is a powerful habit to help you increase your self-awareness and your ability to lead yourself effectively. When we ask this question, it helps us identify our unhealthy habits and become intentional with our actions. After all, how can you improve if you don’t know what to work on? It's like a mirror that helps you see clearly into your leadership tendencies. That's why we call it the "Leader Mirror." And just like when you get up, get dressed, and see yourself in the mirror every morning, so too should you look in your own "Leader Mirror" to set your intentional approach to the day and the people you'll serve. Drilling down a bit further to understand "What's it like to be on the other side of me?", there are three dynamics and additional questions we can use to be more specific in our reflections. 1. Are you proactive or reactive in leading yourself and others right now? 2. Are you intentional or accidental right now? 3. Are you leading in a consistent or inconsistent way right now? Strong leadership and a healthy contribution to your team or family require you to be Proactive Intentional Consistent As someone leading others, using this principle regularly is so important because if you try to lead and challenge others while you still have unhealthy behaviors, then you'll be viewed as hypocritical and undermine your influence. So be sure to reflect and use the “Leader Mirror” daily. Then consider the people and tasks ahead of you and calibrate your own actions to bring out the best in them. This is how you will win the day and maximize the health and performance you bring to every area of your life. One of the best ways to learn more about yourself and become more proactive, intentional, and consistent is by taking GiANT’s 5 Voices Assessment. That’s all for today! “How much time do you spend learning about yourself?” Here at GiANT, we spend countless hours every week meeting with founders, CEOs, and business professionals who manage hundreds and even thousands of people. They’re some of the busiest and most successful people on the planet, and yet when we ask this question, the answer is almost always, “Well, not very much if any at all.” This is a big opportunity. If you’re not getting to know yourself and properly leading yourself, how are you going to effectively lead others? Think of the classic advice of, “You cannot pour from an empty cup.” This is why we developed the tool that we now use seemingly every single day at GiANT, Know Yourself to Lead Yourself. You can see it below. In short, it helps you answer the question, “What’s it like to be on the other side of me - and why?” It gives you a simple, visual way to consistently understand how your tendencies and actions impact others and affect your own reality. You can either start at the bottom by identifying your tendencies (i.e. natural, ingrained patterns of action) and working around to reality, or start with your current reality and work backward to get to the root cause of a situation. In any case, with a clear knowledge of this pattern, you can then intentionally choose healthier, more productive actions that create the relationships, environment, and results you want. This is “Leadership 101.” When everyone is consciously “knowing themselves to lead themselves,” many unnecessary and unproductive issues can be eliminated. While you can certainly use this tool to break down problems, that’s not all you can use it for. As leaders, you can also use it to identify healthy and productive habits to multiply so that you can reinforce healthy leadership behaviors in yourself and others. So, how does one go about learning more about themselves? What should they do? Well, you can start by carving out time each day or each week and intentionally spending it by yourself, learning about yourself. Start by taking the 5 Voices Assessment… It is the best personality and leadership development tool out there and will help you understand yourself and your own unique voice and leadership style. Once you get to know yourself, you get to know your tendencies. Once you get to know your tendencies, you get to know what kinds of outcomes and situations those tendencies put you in. From there, you have the awareness to create better habits, leading to better outcomes and a better reality. You can do the same with others. Once you get to know others, you get to know their tendencies and how to best lead them. That’s all for today! If you found value in this post, follow us for more and repost so others can read.

“In 2024 change is inevitable, and the speed of change is only going to accelerate.”   Every leader, in every organization, in every sector, in every country in the world is going to be faced with the challenge of leading effective change if they are going to stay relevant and profitable. Change for your team/organization could mean a number of things… • Integrating new acquisitions • Launching new products or services • Adopting a new CRM or internal software • Expanding into a new geographical market • Restructuring to reduce costs or headcount • Equipping your leadership with new tools and lenses So, how can you be more successful in leading these types of changes? Firstly, you must create an advisory group that allows you to draw from the wisdom of those who are wired differently from you and see the world through a different perspective. To do this, let’s look at the 5 Voices. (If you’re unfamiliar with the 5 Voices, you can learn more about them and take the free assessment in the comments below) If your Foundational Voice is Pioneer, you will need to ensure you hear the wisdom of the Nurturer and Guardian foundational Voices and leverage their superpowers to help shape the strategy and communicate the change. Once you know your Voice order you can start to recruit your advisory board and draw in the wisdom of your 3rd, 4th, and 5th Voices that don’t come naturally to you. Remember, it’s hard to give honest feedback to leaders who think they already know the answer. It takes humility as a team leader to realize that you don’t have all the answers and that you need the wisdom of multiple Voices to communicate and lead change effectively. When leaders only consult with those who are wired like them, the collaboration can be fun, and exciting and everyone gets aligned on a way forward pretty quickly. However, without an advisory board, they will be shocked at the inevitable negative reaction when the change is communicated.   You need all the Voices involved in shaping the strategy and the external communication if you are going to give yourself the best chance of leading complex change. Since the Nurturers and Guardians make up 73% of the population, they will be more effective at communicating change to the wider organization. Next time you go about a new initiative or project in your organization, use the 5 Voices Dynamics to lead change effectively. That’s all for today!
