Paul Villinski's sculpture, "Delivery," calls attention to food insecurity taking place all over the world. The artwork is inspired by a World War II bomber plane that drops sustenance for those in need instead of explosives. People from all walks of life can become food insecure, and many will find themselves in need at some point during their lifetime. In West Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, many neighbors are just a job loss or medical crisis away from insufficient food. On Sunday, July 14, learn more about food insecurity during a lecture with Naim Edwards from 2–3 pm and donate non-perishable food items from 11 am–5 pm, in collaboration with Feeding America West Michigan. For more information, and for a list of the most needed food items, please visit: https://lnkd.in/grqYydsC

Sunday Strings performances begin at 2 pm in the Huizenga Grand Room, are complementary for members and are included in general admission for nonmember guests. Earlier this week, our education team had a blast at the Michigan Capitol for the mParks - Michigan Recreation and Park Association's Come Out & Play event. Hundreds of summer campers from across the state joined the mParks fun by creating botanic sketches and building a model of "Grand Rapids Arch" by Andy Goldsworthy. #meijergardens #mParks
