Filoli celebrated Juneteenth this afternoon while sharing a meal and learning about the significance of this holiday. This week is California State Parks week! We are thrilled to celebrate nature, sustainability, and well-being in our community. At Filoli we are dedicated to preserving and protecting the natural land around us. Through sustainability practices in our Garden and working with indigenous communities to honor the land, our hope is one day all people will honor nature, value unique experiences, and appreciate beauty in everyday life. We are honored to announce our partnership with Filoli Historic Home & Garden in San Francisco to recruit a diverse range of dedicated individuals to join their board. Filoli seeks new Board Members to strengthen its mission and vision with clear, strategic oversight, ensuring diverse communities experience a deep connection to a beautiful and historic property. We seek individuals who embody commitment, innovation, and leadership to guide the organization through its next chapter. Ideal candidates will: Represent Filoli as an ambassador. Your role entails sharing the organization’s story, welcoming and connecting with community members, engaging with internal and external constituents, and inspiring others to join us and advocate for our mission. Engage actively in committees and task forces. The Board asks members to apply their skills, knowledge, and experience to at least one standing committee. All Board Members are asked to participate in several working sessions on strategic or planning topics each year, Demonstrate active engagement in fundraising strategies and prioritize philanthropy as a core value. As a Board Member, you are expected to lead by example by giving annually and participating in fundraising events and campaigns. Additionally, you will play a key role in recruiting future philanthropic leaders to the organization.
