Meet Luba, Chef Sommelier at Electric Lemon✨ Born and raised in Moscow, Russia, Luba was inspired at a young age by a mentor deeply immersed in wine collecting, and found herself drawn to the world of oenology. After an initial pursuit in the Finance world, Luba decided to turn her career towards her interests in mixology and wine. She moved to London where she spent time becoming a sommelier and learning mixology, dedicating weekends to honing her craft. Once she became certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers, she worked to design innovative cocktail menus and wine programs across renowned establishments in the Bahamas, Dubai, Moscow, and NYC. She was previously at Jean Georges for several years and has taken her knowledge from her experience there to develop the wine list at Electric Lemon. She has brought in exclusive winemakers and works alongside Electric Lemon's Chefs team to create perfect menu pairings. Outside of her role at Electric Lemon, Luba runs a boutique wine consultancy and event catering company. Meet Kate, Beverage Manager at Electric Lemon✨ Kate began her career in the hospitality industry nine years ago when she moved from Russia to New York City. After working at a few bars in NYC, she moved to Chicago to add her creative touch to the world-renowned cocktails at The Aviary, and later alongside the Michelin Star-winning Boka Restaurant Group. She made her move back to New York City to join the team at the highly acclaimed Dante Bar in West Village. In the past few years, Kate has helped several restaurants in NYC revamp their beverage program and earned her Sommelier certificate. We were lucky to welcome Kate to the Electric Lemon team in 2023. Kate loves spending time with her two labradors Betty and Khaleesi, and traveling to as many places as possible. She's visited almost every state in the US, and has visited five countries in the last year alone. She is currently on maternity leave, and just welcomed her first baby! Congratulations Kate!
