We recently pledged a total donation of $30,000 to the Friends of the Sturbridge Senior Center for the renovation and expansion of the center. Once the building is complete, a rich variety of programs, lectures and classes will be available to local seniors, such as ballroom dancing, arthritic kickboxing, chair volleyball, gardening, dementia workshops and much more. At Cornerstone Bank, we are passionate about teaching financial literacy to children of all ages. We recently donated $6,000 to Gateways Academy to help provide financial aid to families with children attending the school. Our Community Relations team, Nicole Degregorio, Sarah Beachman, and Ivori Hildago-Batista have played an active role in teaching the importance of financial literacy to students. Cornerstone Bank is proud to sponsor the Worcester State University Bridge to Excellence: Summer STEM Retention Program with an $11,500 donation, with a total donation of $34,500 over the last three years. The goal of this program is to strengthen the school's retention in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) majors.

Last Thursday, we had the opportunity to participate in Habitat for Humanity's Operation Playhouse Build-a-Thon to benefit local military families and their children. We had a lot of fun constructing, painting, and decorating the playhouses! We would like to thank the families for their service, and the service of all our military men, woman, and families. We would also like to thank Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester for organizing this event.

After an incredible forty-eight-year journey, we're wishing a happy retirement to our longest tenured employee, Sheryle Gaudette. Sheryle began her career at just sixteen years old as a file clerk, and over the years, she has contributed to virtually every department within the Bank. She made a pivotal move sixteen years ago to the newly formed Commercial Lending department, where she has flourished as a Senior Commercial Loan Administrator. Sheryle's exceptional talent for building customer relationships and her uncanny ability to remember every detail, from birthdays to special occasions, has made her an invaluable asset to our team and our clients. Join us in celebrating Sheryle's dedication and wishing her all the best in her well-deserved retirement!

Cornerstone Bank was the proud sponsor of the Juniper Farms Ice Cream Truck at the Shrewsbury Little League Championship Saturday on June 15th. We gave out a total of 583 ice creams! Thank you to all who came and congratulations to all the players on a great season.

On Thursday, June 13th, our employees Eneo Kureta, Lynne Esposito, Jenny Anderson, and Joel Laureano spent the day on the golf course speaking with members of our community. Thank you Corridor 9/495 Regional Chamber of Commerce for hosting a great golf tournament!

This past Friday, our employees took part in the United Way of South Central MA Day of Caring! Our employees planted trees with Opacum Land Trust and spread gravel over sections of the Arbutus Park Trail with the Friends of Sturbridge Trails. Everyone had a great time volunteering in the community!

Last Wednesday, Cornerstone Bank and RCAP Solutions, Inc. held a Homebuyer Workshop at Clark University. The presenters, Cornerstone Bank Mortgage Loan Officer Lynne Esposito and Deputy Director of Housing Counseling at RCAP Solutions Lindsey Richmond, provided information on the homebuying process, first-time homebuyer products, and affordability.
