Our United Way of South Central MA is a vital link between local non-profit organizations and the residents of these wonderful towns. Working together, we raise funds, increase volunteerism and promote awareness – to ensure better lives for those less fortunate in our community. Most importantly, 99% of the money that is raised here stays here – directly benefiting our neighbors in charlton, Dudley, Southbridge, Sturbridge and Webster. This past Friday, our employees took part in the United Way of South Central MA Day of Caring! Our employees planted trees with Opacum Land Trust and spread gravel over sections of the Arbutus Park Trail with the Friends of Sturbridge Trails. Everyone had a great time volunteering in the community!
Today is United Way's Day of Action, and the United Way of South Central MA is proud to celebrate our Day of Caring! Almost one hundred volunteers across Charlton, Dudley, Southbridge, Sturbridge, and Webster came together to lend a helping hand to local non-profits. From painting and cleaning to landscaping and beautification projects, our volunteers are making a real impact in our communities. The DAY OF CARING 2024 is almost upon us! Our board members are hard at work preparing swag bags for all the volunteers registered to undertake projects across 15 locations in our region. Tasks will range from landscaping and painting to tree planting and assembling patient packets. The morning of Friday, June 21st promises to be a hive of activity. We extend our gratitude to Savers Bank for the new DAY OF CARING aprons and to the Rotary Club of Southbridge for the breakfast sandwiches from Elm St. Cafe. Deadline to apply for annual Community Impact Grants is this Friday, 4/26! Don’t miss out on submitting your application that addresses health, education and/or financial stability programs in South Central MA!
Applications are now being accepted for FY 2024-25 Community Impact Grants. Grants are available to non-profit organizations (501c3) that have a proven track record of three years or more of supporting a program that directly impacts the United Way's mission of health, education and financial stability (income) services. These programs are meant to improve the lives of the citizens of the five towns UWSCM represents. Your program must take place or directly serves the residents in at least one of the towns of Charlton, Dudley, Southbridge, Sturbridge or Webster. UWSCM does not fund capital expenses but does consider staffing and direct service as eligible.
