The #CopernicusClimate Change Service (#C3S) & #CopernicusAtmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), implemented by #ECMWF.
About us
The Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) and the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) are two services of the European Union’s Copernicus Earth Observation Programme implemented by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts on behalf of the European Commission. The Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) provides authoritative information about the world’s past, present and future climate. Our freely accessible high-quality data, tools and information help businesses, scientists and policymakers to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change. We directly support businesses in climate-sensitive sectors, such as energy, health and insurance, to develop valuable tools for real-world problems. This stimulates other organisations to create their own applications based on our data. climate.copernicus.eu The Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) provides quality-controlled information related to air pollution and health, solar energy, greenhouse gases and climate forcing, across the world. We support policymakers, businesses and citizens by providing atmospheric environmental information, available as analyses and forecasts. We work with a diverse range of industries which use our information products to provide a set of unrivalled services. These include numerous air quality apps, wildfire analysis and solar radiation evaluation among many others. atmosphere.copernicus.eu We invite all businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, to get in touch to find out how data can be used to create commercially viable products with the aim of protecting and sustaining our environment.

🌬️✈️New research reveals how dust plumes near the world's busiest airports impact aircraft in different flight phases. A new paper published today shows how dust plumes near the world’s busiest airports can impact aircraft during different phases of flight. Led by the University of Reading and published in Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences, this research was co-authored by four scientists from the #CopernicusAtmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) and ECMWF, utilizing CAMS data. Discover the findings here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dFjaP8ki

The #CopernicusClimate Change Service's (#C3S) monthly climate bulletin is out now, with updates on precipitation, relative humidity, and soil moisture in June. In Europe: 💧 June was wetter than average over Iceland, central and most of south-western Europe, with heavy precipitation leading to floods in regions of Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland; 💧 last month was drier than average over Ireland, most of the UK, Fennoscandia, southern Italy and much of Eastern Europe, particularly around the Black Sea. Beyond Europe: 💧 It was wetter than average over parts of North America, south-western and south-eastern Asia, southernmost Africa, regions of Australia and South America; 💧 drier-than-average conditions were seen across North America, several regions of Asia and most of South America. Severe wildfires occurred in northeastern Russia and central South America. You can find more, including access to the data, graphs and maps and updates on hydrological indicators on our monthly bulletin page on the C3S website. 👉https://lnkd.in/dcQnSSGW
