About us
Connections Work - formerly Berks Connections/Pretrial Services (BCPS) is a nonprofit organization that provides both pretrial services and reentry programming for inmates and returning citizens, as well as services for their children and loved ones. Our reentry workforce development and housing programs equip returning citizens with the tools and support necessary to become productive members of our community. Our Family Connections programs serve to lessen the negative impact on children and families affected by parental incarceration. Additionally, Connections Work serves as the court appointed County Pretrial Services agency with services focused on interviewing and assessing defendants’ risk and providing the information to the Court, supervising defendants on pretrial release, and providing staffing and assistance to the county’s diversionary programs. Connections Work is proud to be certified by the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO) through their Standards for Excellence certification program. Connections Work was one of the first organizations to be certified under the Standards program that began in 2002.

WHAT IS A PARDON COACH? Requesting a pardon has become much easier, and since 2019, Pennsylvania has been leading the nation in pardon reform. The key to a successful pardon request is the application. Many people need assistance in sharing their stories and demonstrating how they have changed since their initial legal troubles. As a volunteer Pardon Coach, you can provide that crucial support. The training is free and takes only an hour. Do you want to help transform lives in Berks County? If so, please email: PardonProject@connectionswork.org.
