Our 4th annual Taste the Difference tasting event, formerly named Sip & Stroll, is coming up on Thursday, September 26th from 6-9 PM at South Shore Harbour Resort. Enjoy some of the best food and beverages the Bay Area has to offer, while providing at-risk students in Clear Creek ISD and Dickinson ISD the support they need to stay in school and achieve in life. This is what it's all about. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to walk with these students through school halls, life transitions, and eventually across the graduation stage.

The Rotary Club Of Space Center recently honored Barrios Technology, LTD with a LEAP Award for their leadership in giving back to the community. As part of that honor Barrios Technology designated $1,000 to be donated from Space Center Rotary to CIS – Bay Area. A sweet statement from a recent graduate of Clear Creek High School and the Communities In Schools - Bay Area program. It can be hard to say goodbye to a student who you have had the privilege to know for four years but rewarding to see their enthusiasm as they embark on this new chapter of life.

On April 28, 2024, students at Armand Bayou Montessori School participated in a fun run to raise money for a local nonprofit agency. The students raised $960.00 and chose Communities In Schools - Bay Area to be the recipient of the community service. Dr. Peter Wuenschel, Executive Director of CIS - Bay Area accepted the donation from the students and told the students that he believes they are heroes because they are thinking about others before thinking about themselves.

Congratulations to our Great Gator bike winners! These Barber Middle School students received a bike generously donated by Marathon Petroleum Corporation for being well rounded students. Thank you CIS-BA Student Support Specialist Mrs. Espinoza, and campus staff Mrs. Carpenter and Ms. Winters for helping celebrate these wonderful gators. 🚲

We are pleased to announce that we have received a $5,000 grant from the Albert and Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation in support of our school-based services for at-risk students! We are honored to have the Herzstein Foundation as a valuable partner in helping students reach their potential in school, and beyond. Thank you, Del Papa Community Fund, for the $2,500 donation in support of our dropout prevention programs for Dickinson and Clear Creek ISD students! It is such an honor to partner with Del Papa Distributing Company in ensuring that at-risk students have the services and resources they need to reach their potential in school and beyond. Thank you, Lunar Rendezvous Festival! CIS – Bay Area was awarded a $2,500 grant in support of our GROW Mentoring program! CIS – Bay Area Grant Manager, Tina Brown, accepted the award from Advisory Board members Terri Dieste and Michelle Holland at the Lunar Rendezvous Festival Kick Off Ceremony. We are honored to be a recipient of this funding, and to continue our partnership with the Lunar Rendezvous Festival in supporting our community’s at-risk students.

Dust off your golf shoes and do a few practice swings in the mirror because it's tournament day! ⛳ We look forward to seeing you all on the course and raising critical funds for students in need in our community, providing them hope for a brighter future in school and beyond.
