The Rotary Club Of Space Center recently honored Barrios Technology, LTD with a LEAP Award for their leadership in giving back to the community. As part of that honor Barrios Technology designated $1,000 to be donated from Space Center Rotary to CIS – Bay Area. On April 28, 2024, students at Armand Bayou Montessori School participated in a fun run to raise money for a local nonprofit agency. The students raised $960.00 and chose Communities In Schools - Bay Area to be the recipient of the community service. Dr. Peter Wuenschel, Executive Director of CIS - Bay Area accepted the donation from the students and told the students that he believes they are heroes because they are thinking about others before thinking about themselves.

Congratulations to our Great Gator bike winners! These Barber Middle School students received a bike generously donated by Marathon Petroleum Corporation for being well rounded students. Thank you, Lunar Rendezvous Festival! CIS – Bay Area was awarded a $2,500 grant in support of our GROW Mentoring program! CIS – Bay Area Grant Manager, Tina Brown, accepted the award from Advisory Board members Terri Dieste and Michelle Holland at the Lunar Rendezvous Festival Kick Off Ceremony. We are honored to be a recipient of this funding, and to continue our partnership with the Lunar Rendezvous Festival in supporting our community’s at-risk students.
