Immigration. It's one of the most polarizing topics of our time. But what if we stripped out the politics and legality of the matter and simply talked to the people with lived experience, making Colorado their home. Peel back the stereotypes, look beneath dividing lines, and discover what truly humanizes us all. Hear incredible stories from some of these folks in our newest original series Humanize: Stories of Immigrants. Stream online at pbs12.org/humanize or watch on Sundays, beginning 6/23, at 7pm.

We can't think of a better way to spend a weekend than with Nature Cat in Rocky Mountain National Park! Thank you to all the families who came to hang with us, meet Nature Cat, create some beautiful pieces of art, and celebrate Kids to Parks Day. This amazing initiative, started by the National Park Service, intends to reconnect kids with nature through the exploration of the great outdoors in local, state, and national parks. And if it's one thing Colorado has plenty of, it's gorgeous parks! If you missed this awesome outing, don't worry, we've got plenty more coming this summer. We can't wait to see you!

YOU'RE INVITED to the premiere event and screening of our newest installment of Humanize: Stories of Immigrants. Hear the often overlooked stories from people inside the intensely polarizing issue of immigration. In this series, we don't focus on the issue of immigration as a whole, but on the people who are living it. In these critically acclaimed PBS12 original shorts, we shed the stereotypes of what they do and how our society often defines them, in favor of who they are as humans. Peel back the stereotypes, look beneath dividing lines, and discover what truly humanizes us all. A discussion with some of the film participants, immediately following the film, will be moderated by PBS12's own Tom Brainard. Reserve your ticket: https://lnkd.in/gN-Tm4PT

PBS12 is hosting the inaugural Confluence, our community’s first-ever event bringing together leaders from across our state from business, nonprofit, and government sectors to have meaningful conversations around how to address Colorado’s most pressing challenges and how to catalyze progress and change. Backed by statewide data, we'll dig into three key areas that impact our entire state: mental health, inflation and affordability, and access to childcare. The Confluence will highlight stories of people and organizations who are making strides and championing these three issues, and we need your help to identify those folks who are doing incredible work in these spaces. We are looking for nominations for leaders, individuals, and/or organizations across the state that have played a meaningful role in the following areas: > Mental health and access to care > Making Colorado more affordable in relation to housing, the cost of doing business, food insecurity, or others > Creating better access to early childcare education and care. Submit your nominations and learn more at pbs12.org/confluence

It's hard to have a bad day with 30 excited 1st graders from WYATT ACADEMY visiting the studio! Connecting with our community - especially kids - is at the heart of what we do. When we're able to expose people of all ages to the magic of public television, everyone wins! Thanks to the wonderful PBS12 staff who showed these kiddos a good time, took their pictures, and explained how all the big machines behind-the-scenes work. And thank you to Wyatt Academy for coming to visit.
