Protect the skin you're in! This month is #UVSafetyMonth. Use a layered approach to protect your skin from UV-related damage by using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least an SPF of 15, reapplying it every two hours, seek shade during the midday hours, and wear a hat, sunglasses, and protective clothing to shield skin. #sunprotection #publichealth #summertime #SunExposure

Over the weekend, Director Dr. Mati Hlatshwayo Davis, MD, MPH, FIDSA, visited our Family Community School Health team as they provided lead screenings for students preparing to go back to school at the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis Urban Expo #BacktoSchool Festival. The lead screenings were done inside our ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act)-funded #PublicHealth Outreach Vehicle, which serves as a crucial resource for our community. This vehicle allows us to provide essential services and resources for our residents. We were glad to offer this service and give parents the chance to have their children screened for lead exposure as part of their back-to-school preparations.
