The City of Redmond Fire Department is home to over 160 dedicated staff who are committed to safeguarding our community and protecting over $40 billion in assessed property value. With an annual budget of $40 million, we operate from four fire stations within Redmond and three more in King County Fire District 34, covering a combined service area of 45 square miles. Our suppression team responds to a staggering 17,000 calls each year while our prevention team reviews building permits and inspects over 1,000 properties per year, making a profound impact on the lives of our residents. We have an exciting opportunity available, and we invite you to join our ranks and take on a pivotal role as our Administrative Specialist in our Prevention team’s System Reliability group. The Fire Prevention Division is integral to building and maintaining a safe city through the following services. Under the supervision of the Assistant Fire Marshal, you will be a critical part of tracking compliance of inspection, testing and maintenance requirements on engineered life safety equipment installed in buildings. Currently this team is tracking 3,130 fire systems that are required to be inspected per the fire code including 1,540 fire alarm systems. For this role, candidates with backgrounds in administrative support roles within construction, engineering, or public safety sectors would bring valuable experience. Additionally, individuals with knowledge of building codes, fire safety regulations, or experience in inspection and compliance roles would find their skills transferable to this position within the Fire Prevention Division's System Reliability group.
