Earlier this week, city, state, and federal officials, along with project partners, celebrated the completion of construction of Phase 2 of the Scriber Creek Trail Improvements with a ribbon-cutting celebration. Phase 2 of the Scriber Creek Trail Improvement project made critical upgrades to approximately 5,000 linear feet of walking paths, transforming it into a non-motorized transportation alternative to access the Lynnwood Transit Center and City Center light rail station. A special thank you to those who joined us to celebrate the opening of this incredible new space! You can learn more about the project on our website, so be sure to check it out for yourself! https://lnkd.in/gVkxNKhn

This evening, the City Council appointed Almaderica “Derica” Escamilla to the Lynnwood City Council. Position No. 1 was vacated in May of this year due to the resignation of Council Member Shirley Sutton. The Council interviewed its top candidates over two special meetings this week and voted to select the appointee this evening. During the July 15 Work Session, she will take her Oath of Office and be seated immediately. The City would like to thank all applicants for their willingness to serve the community in this capacity.
