Congratulations to United Way of Rhode Island on the incredible success of their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. VITA experienced a 7% increase over 2023 returns, with more than 11,000 people filing, resulting in $4 million dollars going back to Rhode Islanders. The Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit are the most effective anti-poverty programs currently at work.
