Central Hudson is proud to be long-time supporters of Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County. Last Thursday, in the city of #poughkeepsie, Central Hudson employees teamed up with employees from one of our partner organizations, ICF, to clean, paint and landscape two homes that were later that day dedicated to deserving families. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Central Hudson has employees who volunteer at builds, employees on the board and has dedicated funds throughout the years to support this important nonprofit. 50% Increase in Energy Efficiency Incentives! Central Hudson's High Efficiency Commercial Custom Electric and Gas Program is designed to help non-residential customers offset costs to replace aging, inefficient equipment and systems with energy-efficient technologies. The more energy saved with upgraded equipment, the more incentives earned in this program. Upgrades include building envelope improvements, HVAC system replacements and tune-ups, integrated control systems, compressed air, and motor upgrades. Own a farm or agriculture business? Central Hudson employees Cory Scofield and Aisha Kutter represented the company to receive the #EnergyStar Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence recently in Washington, D.C. It is the seventh consecutive year Central Hudson has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Dept. of Energy, and the third year receiving the highest honor. What does this mean for our customers? Through the success of our energy efficiency programs which offer rebates, incentives, and a list of trusted contractors, we have helped our customers install: - More than 5 million ENERGY STAR certified LEDs - 19,000 heat pumps - 1,300 electric heat pump hot water heaters - Lighting system upgrades in nearly 8,700 commercial and municipal buildings In addition, through these programs, Central Hudson offers: - Pool pump and smart thermostat rebates - Reduced pricing in area retailers on weatherization products, dehumidifiers, and air purifiers - Incentives for commercial customers to install EV charging stations, HVAC upgrades, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, and other energy-saving measures - Free fleet conversion assessments from gas powered vehicles to electric vehicles Since 2009, these programs saved households and business more than $107 million in energy costs, avoided nearly 1.3 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions annually and reduced energy demands by enough to power 64,600 homes for a year. Congratulations to Central Hudson's Brianna Peak and Joseph Koberger for being among the Top 40 Under 40 honorees recognized at last night's Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce event! Brianna is Manager of Gas Engineering and Operations at Central Hudson. She gives back to the community in many ways, including as a youth soccer coach, by mentoring students about engineering careers and serving as a Board member of Wraparound Services of the Hudson Valley, where she actively fosters educational and youth development opportunities. Joe is Director of Gas Engineering at Central Hudson. He also serves on the planning committee for the Angels of Rock fundraiser, supporting the Angels of Light charity. This organization is dedicated to helping local children and families facing life-threatening illnesses. Under Joe's guidance, the Angels of Rock fundraiser has flourished, raising more than $200,000 since 2017. These funds have provided vital support to families in need.
