Central Hudson employees Cory Scofield and Aisha Kutter represented the company to receive the #EnergyStar Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence recently in Washington, D.C. It is the seventh consecutive year Central Hudson has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Dept. of Energy, and the third year receiving the highest honor. What does this mean for our customers? Through the success of our energy efficiency programs which offer rebates, incentives, and a list of trusted contractors, we have helped our customers install: - More than 5 million ENERGY STAR certified LEDs - 19,000 heat pumps - 1,300 electric heat pump hot water heaters - Lighting system upgrades in nearly 8,700 commercial and municipal buildings In addition, through these programs, Central Hudson offers: - Pool pump and smart thermostat rebates - Reduced pricing in area retailers on weatherization products, dehumidifiers, and air purifiers - Incentives for commercial customers to install EV charging stations, HVAC upgrades, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, and other energy-saving measures - Free fleet conversion assessments from gas powered vehicles to electric vehicles Since 2009, these programs saved households and business more than $107 million in energy costs, avoided nearly 1.3 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions annually and reduced energy demands by enough to power 64,600 homes for a year.
