What a fabulous start to the CLIMBS project! This week's strategic planning meeting dove deep into quantifiable research goals, broader outreach details, and potential challenges going forward. Most importantly, it connected CLIMBS leadership and fostered cross-institutional and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Together, we will build climate resilience in Kentucky. You can learn more about the $24 million, 5-year partnership funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) EPSCoR/IDeA Foundation (EIF) and the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development on our website: https://lnkd.in/eZRgNMW3 #climate #resilience #kentucky

As we celebrate the one-year anniversary of our first barrels, we are taking a moment to reflect on the remarkable journey we’ve had. Since dropping in our still on May 1st, 2023, the past year has been nothing short of extraordinary. In just over a year, we’ve completed our distillery build, celebrated our grand opening, expanded from 1 barrel to over 50,000, constructed four warehouses, bottled our initial WKY Distilling Single Barrel Bourbon, and forged amazing partnerships with some of the best in the industry. We extend our deepest gratitude to the state of Kentucky, the people of Ohio County, and everyone who has supported us along the way. Your encouragement has been crucial to our success. Here’s to celebrating many more milestones in the year to come and beyond. Cheers to progress and a bright future ahead! 🥃

Yesterday, I enjoyed attending the Agriculture is Economic Development discussion hosted by Murray State University and Kentucky Department of Agriculture with Chris Wooldridge serving as the facilitator and Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell and his team providing incredible insight into the importance of agriculture and looking for more vertically integrated opportunities for our agriculture crops and livestock. We also enjoyed a tremendous update from Kentucky's Cabinet for Economic Development Secretary Jeff Noel. Secretary Noel and his team continue to identify new partnerships and opportunities for communities and regions, like the SWK! The SWK region was well represented with Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam, Trigg County Judge Executive Stan Humphries, Elkton Mayor Arthur Green, Hopkinsville Mayor JR Knight, Jason Jenkins, Don Pemberton, Jason Vincent, and Taylor Hayes attending to learn and develop relationships to promote the region's agriculture assets and continue identifying new opportunities for the future! #comegrowwithus #thinkkentucky #fortcampbell #lesstaxingmorerelaxing Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development Kentucky Department of Agriculture Christian County Chamber of Commerce City of Hopkinsville Planters Bank Sharon Butts Tony Prim Sarah Whitaker
